Proximae Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains what is and is not allowed when using Proximae.
It applies to accounts, workspaces, projects, uploads, comments, annotations, Share Links, downloads, APIs, and any other part of the Proximae service. It forms part of the Proximae Terms of Service.
Most users will never need to think about this policy. Its purpose is to protect customers, reviewers, third parties, and the Service from misuse.
1. Use Proximae lawfully
You may not use Proximae to create, upload, store, share, distribute, or facilitate content or activity that violates applicable law.
You are responsible for making sure you have the rights, permissions, and authority needed for the files and information you place in the Service.
2. Respect intellectual-property and confidentiality rights
Do not use Proximae to infringe or misappropriate another person’s or organization’s:
- copyright;
- trademark;
- patent;
- trade secret;
- confidential information; or
- other intellectual-property or proprietary rights.
Do not upload or share confidential client, employer, studio, or production material if you are not authorized to do so.
3. Respect privacy and personal information
Do not use Proximae to unlawfully collect, expose, monitor, publish, or distribute another person’s personal information.
If Customer Content contains personal information about other people, you are responsible for having an appropriate legal basis and any notices or permissions required to place that information in the Service.
Do not use Share Links, comments, attachments, or invitations to harass people or expose information to recipients who are not authorized to receive it.
4. Do not distribute malicious or dangerous software
You may not knowingly use Proximae to upload, host, transmit, or distribute:
- malware;
- ransomware;
- viruses or worms;
- malicious scripts or executables;
- credential-stealing tools;
- destructive payloads; or
- files primarily intended to compromise another system or person.
Legitimate security research, test assets, or technical samples may be permitted only when you are authorized to possess and use them and they do not create an unreasonable risk to Proximae or other users.
5. Do not attack or bypass the Service
You may not, without our prior authorization:
- probe, scan, or test Proximae for vulnerabilities in a way that could harm the Service or other users;
- attempt to access accounts, workspaces, projects, assets, Share Links, infrastructure, or data you are not authorized to access;
- defeat authentication, permissions, rate limits, download restrictions, or other access controls;
- obtain or attempt to obtain secrets, credentials, private tokens, or signed URLs belonging to another user;
- interfere with or disrupt our infrastructure or providers;
- launch denial-of-service or resource-exhaustion attacks; or
- exploit a vulnerability after becoming aware that doing so could expose or damage other users or systems.
If you discover a security issue, please report it to security@proximae.io rather than exploiting it.
6. Do not abuse resources or automation
Do not use Proximae in a way that creates unreasonable load, disrupts normal service, or is designed to evade the limits of your account or subscription.
Examples include:
- deliberately bypassing storage, upload, seat, API, or processing limits;
- creating multiple accounts or workspaces primarily to avoid plan restrictions;
- automated activity at a volume that materially degrades the Service;
- scraping private content or metadata without authorization;
- repeatedly submitting intentionally malformed or abusive processing jobs; or
- using Proximae infrastructure primarily as generic file hosting, a content-delivery network, or a compute service unrelated to normal product use.
Reasonable automation through interfaces we explicitly provide is allowed subject to the limits and documentation for those interfaces.
7. Do not misuse Share Links or invitations
Share Links and invitations are intended to help authorized people collaborate.
You may not:
- intentionally distribute a private Share Link to unauthorized recipients;
- use another person’s reviewer identity or impersonate them;
- circumvent a Share Link password, expiry, permission, or revoked status;
- use invitations for spam, harassment, phishing, or deceptive outreach; or
- use a Share Link or invitation to trick someone into revealing credentials or other sensitive information.
Workspace owners and administrators are responsible for choosing suitable sharing and download permissions for their content.
8. Do not impersonate or deceive
Do not use Proximae to impersonate another person or organization in a way that is deceptive or harmful.
Do not misrepresent your authority to approve work, access a project, represent a company, or upload material on someone else’s behalf.
9. Do not use the Service for severe abuse or exploitation
You may not use Proximae to facilitate serious harm or exploitation, including material involving sexual exploitation of children, trafficking, credible threats of violence, or other content that is illegal to possess or distribute.
We may preserve relevant information, restrict access, and cooperate with lawful investigations or reporting obligations where required or permitted by law.
10. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe this policy has been violated, we may take proportionate action such as:
- asking you to stop or correct the activity;
- removing or restricting access to specific content;
- disabling a Share Link;
- limiting a feature or account;
- suspending access while we investigate; or
- terminating an account for serious or repeated violations.
When practical, we will consider the nature of the issue, whether it was intentional, the risk to others, and whether the problem can be corrected without suspending an entire account.
We may take immediate action where necessary to protect users, prevent security incidents, comply with law, preserve evidence, or stop serious abuse.
11. Reporting abuse
To report abuse, security concerns, or unlawful content associated with Proximae, contact:
For ordinary account or product support, contact support@proximae.io.
Please include enough information for us to investigate, such as the relevant workspace, project, Share Link, asset, account, or other context. Do not send passwords, private authentication tokens, or other unnecessary secrets.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP as the Service and the types of misuse we need to address evolve.
Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way. The effective date at the top tells you when this version became effective.
